Regular Dental Check-Ups Are Key To Preventing Tooth Loss
When carried out around twice a year, a dental examination allows your dentist to identify any underlying problems that may cause you problems in the future.
Therefore, the earlier we detect problems, the better, not just for your oral health but in terms of the extent of treatment you’ll need. Minor issues are much more easier and faster to treat before it becomes a real problem and more challenging to reverse.
A comprehensive dental examination will be performed by our dentist at your initial dental visit. The regular dental check-up will include the following:
- Examination of diagnostic x-rays (radiographs)
- Gum disease evaluation
- Examination of tooth decay
- Examination of existing restorations
Essential for detection of decay, tumors, cysts, and bone loss. X-rays also help determine tooth and root positions.
Check the gums and bone around the teeth for any signs of periodontal disease.
All tooth surfaces will be checked for decay with special dental instruments.
Check current fillings, crowns, etc.
